EDU-SYRIA receives 2.6 million euro grant from EU

Amman. Prof. Manar Fayyad, EDU-SYRIA Project Director and President of the German Jordanian University, signed the grant agreement for an extension on EDU-SYRIA II Program (VET & Higher Education Programme for vulnerable Syrian youth and disadvantaged youth from host communities (EDU-SYRIA II)) on June 23rd, 2019. The grant is worth 2.6 million Euro, provided from the European Union Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian Crisis, the ‘Madad Fund’, raising up the overall EDU-SYRIA Project fund to 17.6 million Euros. Iftar Banquet for EDU-SYRIA Students

Zarqa, Jordan, On Thursday 23 May 2019, EDU-Syria Project organized an Iftar banquet for 250 students affiliated with the Program. The Iftar banquet took place at Zarqa University in the presence of the German Jordanian University President Prof. Manar Fayyad, and representatives of the EU Delegation to Jordan. The Chairman of the University’s Board of Directors and the President of Zarqa University also attended the event. The banquet included a variety of music and cultural activities by the Program’s students. EDU-SYRIA in GJU career fair

On Wednesday 24 April 2019, EDU-SYRIA graduates joined the annual career fair at the German Jordanian University (GJU). EDU-SYRIA project continuously tries to support the Syrian refugees by encouraging all the project’s graduates to participate in the GJU job fair, which aimed to introduce the students to the Jordanian industrial companies, and give them the chance to interact with companies representatives, and discussed with them the potential job opportunities and internships. After the job fair, EDU-SYRIA team discussed over lunch with the graduated students the employment opportunities and after graduation future plans.

Amman. On April 18th, 2018, EDU-SYRIA team held the seventh Quarterly Management meeting at Luminus Technical University College (LTUC) to discuss the Programmes’ progress. The dean of the LTUC, Dr. Ayman Magableh welcomed the president of the German Jordanian University and the Director of EDU-SYRIA Programme Prof. Dr. Manar Fayyad, and EDU-SYRIA Management team. On Sunday 14 April 2019, The Deputy manager of EU Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian Crisis “Madad”, Ms.Danielle Keulen, visited EDU SYRIA at Luminus Technical University College and opened the EDU SYRIA corner. A delegation of Syrian and Jordanian students from the EDU-Syria Program participated in the Third Brussels Conference on Supporting the Future of Syria and the Region in Belgium on March 13th and 14th. The conference aims to discuss a number of political and financial issues as well as humanitarian aid to Syria and the region.
